About us

Halalati is a technology-based social media marketing start-up, based in Munich, Germany. Our web-based service helps small companies and creative agencies to create, manage, and promote photo, video, or other creative contests without any technical skills. Our standardized tool-box saves our customers cost and time and allows them to focus on their core competence: engaging with their customers through creative and inspiring contents.

Founding Team

Dr. Thomas Langenberg, Co-founder & CEO
Thomas is CEO of Halalati and responsible for Sales & Marketing. Prior to founding Halalati, Thomas consulted with Accenture, Vale and McKinsey & Company. After finishing his dissertation at EPFL, Thomas took off for two years and became a semi-professional triathlete to train and qualify for the IRONMAN World Championships in Hawaii. During this time he also founded his first local online triathlon community and ran a triathlon training blog. In spring 2009 he brought together the Halalati founding team and ever since drove the development of Halalati.

Jana Thiel, Co-founder
Jana supports the Halalati team mainly in PR and communications strategy. Jana pursues her doctoral studies at EPFL at the Chair of Entrepreneurship and Technology Commercialization. Her research focuses on cognitive and motivational aspects that influence the behaviors of nascent entrepreneurs. If she doesn't write scientific papers on entrepreneurship or blog posts for Halalati on social media marketing, Jana tries her luck at endurance sports like triathlon or cross-country skiing. Steadily she secures solid placements in the tail end of the middle field! Taking part is everything!
